My passion for sewing was ignited at the age of 6 in my mother’s 4-H group. The creations that resulted from my hands thrilled me and my mind hasn’t stopped since. That class remained my arena of skill development throughout my school years. I created my own designs for my school clothes, as well as costumes for square dance and twirling competitions.
That passion meshed into a lifetime of experience sewing for family, friends, and customers it has been my pleasure to serve.
The world of Heirloom Sewing was introduced to me by a Martha Pullam class in the mid-80’s, and the deep passion for sewing for babies and kids was born. You can see my offerings by visiting my Etsy store, Old2New Heirlooms (my official website is still under construction!). You may also contact me at sales@old2newheirlooms.com.
My latest venture is the custom quilting. I have made quilts for years on my trusty Bernina machines, but my focus was on the quilt and not so much on the “quilting” process. As you would guess, the sparked interest in the quilting process led to my purchase of a longarm quilting system that has opened a whole new world. I am having lots of fun learning the ins and outs of quilting on my new jewel, the HandiQuilter Amara20. Stay tuned to follow my growth.
My goal for all my creations is that they will be truly of Heirloom quality, created for future generations to also enjoy. I choose high quality products for my creations, apply my skills and attention to the details, each item made with much love and prayer.
