HQ Quilting Academy

I recently returned from a trip to Layton, UT where I attended the HandiQuilter Academy. I upgraded to an HQ Amara20 last December and decided to attend the academy to get a ‘booster class’ on ProStitcher, for computerized quilting.

The theme was “CinemAcademy” and the folks from HQ had a grand time with decorations! The final dinner was ‘red carpet’ and we were encouraged to dress accordingly! I made a long dress with sequined chiffon and a jacket using a jelly roll of wonderful, beautiful colors.

Assorted celebrity photos with “quilt appropriate” phrases were posted in the ladies room – some of them were quite funny! Whoever put them together has quite a sense of humor!

There were folks from all over the states (including Alaska) plus Canada and the UK. I had fun visiting with others just as eager to learn more about their longarm quilting systems.

I took the ProSticher Basics class as my quilting projects so far have all been free-motion. The teachers were great and very patient with questions.

I had a good time and made another new friend! Her cousin lives here in town, so we will be able to get together again when she visits.

I would love to talk to anyone with possible projects. Together we can make wonderful memories!

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 NIV
